MESSAGE FROM THE LFCC CHAIR - Colonel William H. Graham
Welcome to the 2011 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). I am proud to announce that the CFC is celebrating its 50th Anniversary! For 50 years, the CFC has provided an easy and convenient way for federal employees to give to their charity choice through payroll deduction or a one time donation. Since 1961, Federal Employees through the CFC have raised over $6 billion dollars for charities and has created charity awareness and remarkable volunteerism throughout the world. We have assisted such causes as child and family welfare, the homeless, the elderly and others in need. Additionally we have supported foundations for the arts, the environment, medical research, animal protection, adoption services and MANY other deserving causes locally, nationally and internationally. Last year, federal civilian employees and military personnel throughout the 3 Rivers/Pennsylvania West region demonstrated great commitment to our community by raising $1,153,262 for charity with 4,347 donors. This year the goal is to again raise $1.1 million and to allow all federal employees a chance to be a part of this extraordinary celebration of “50 Years of Caring…50 Years of Giving!” For those of you who have never given through the CFC, I encourage you to be a first time giver of whatever amount you can. No donation is too small for this special anniversary. By spreading your gift out over a small donation per month or pay period, using payroll deduction, we can build to a larger total sum in helping others. If you’re a loyal supporter of the CFC, welcome back and thank you! Please know that the directory lists hundreds of organizations in need of your assistance. You can also search online at www.3riverscfc.org. Look for organizations that are important to you and your beliefs. In our work as federal employees, we give of ourselves everyday because we care about the welfare of our communities, our country and the world. Please join me this year in extending that same compassion and generosity through the CFC and its charities. As one of the most effective and efficient channels for philanthropic giving, the CFC includes a huge variety of local, national, and international causes and gives Federal workers an accountable, flexible way to donate to the charities of their choice.
